University Games

About

The Australian University National Championships is an annual event, which was held in the Gold Coast for 2023, at which universities from across the country come together to compete in a wide range of sports, including tennis. This event is a week long team event, which is packed with both tennis and social events. Although Uni Games can be expensive, many players describe them as "one of the best weeks of their lives." The UON Tennis Club is responsible for holding team trials, with both men's and women's teams including a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 players each. Club membership is not required to attend the trial, which is held early in the year to ensure adequate time for team training and bonding. Based on previous years, players are likely to need around $600-$800 for travel, accommodation and registration, and this figure is not inclusive of food, drinks and social event costs, however many players describe the experience as 'one of the best weeks of their lives'.

In recent years, the tennis team has had unprecedented success as the Women's team finished 4th in Australia in 2015 and the Men's team finished 4th in Australia in 2016. If you are interested in trialling for the event, please follow this link or click on the "Events" tab above.
