DESCRIPTION:Eastern University Games Trials\n\nWe are looking for players t
 o represent the University of Newcastle at the 2017 Eastern University Game
 s (EUG’s) held in Newcastle. The Eastern University games will run from Sun
 day the 2nd of July to Thursday the 6th of July. The team trials will be he
 ld on Sunday the 2nd of April.\n\nThe Eastern University Games is tradition
 ally a singles event (although this is subject to possible change). Players
  are divided into pools where they play-off in a round robin format. The re
 sults of the pool matches will then dictate the positions for the following
  compass draw. At the completion of the event\, each player will have an in
 dividual rank for the tournament.\n\nWe are able to select four players for
  each team (Men’s and Women’s teams) whose final rankings contribute toward
 s our University Teams’ results. Although only four players will count towa
 rds each team’s overall score\, we have previously been permitted to enter 
 additional players (who do not count towards our final score). Typically co
 mpetitors will play 2-3 matches per day\, starting as early as 8am and fini
 shing around 4pm.\n\nThe social program involves themed parties at popular 
 night clubs each night (the entry fee to which is included in the tournamen
 t registration). These events are of course not compulsory\, although they 
 are strongly encouraged!\n\nThe EUG’s can be an expensive event so please c
 onsider this before registering for the trials. Registration typically cost
 s around $100\, with additional fees associated with the social program. Fo
 rtunately\, as the event is Newcastle this year\, accommodation and travel 
 costs are not an issue.\n\nThe teams will be selected on the basis of tenni
 s ability during the trial session on Sunday\, April the 2nd. The trial wil
 l commence at 9am at the Broadmeadow Tennis Courts (Topspin Tennis). A comp
 limentary BBQ will be provided by the UON Tennis Club at the conclusion of 
 the trials (approximately 1pm). Players will be welcome to join the UON Ten
 nis Club Sunday Social which commences at 1pm also.\n\nTrial attendance is 
 crucial. If you are interested in trialing for the EUG’s but are unable to 
 attend the trial day\, you must contact either Matt Heitmeyer (UON Tennis C
 lub Competitive Events Director) or Sam Stephens (UON Tennis Club President
